The Cosmic Conversation
We’re going to Burning Man y’all! As first time burners, we’re thrilled to be joining the camp of our friends, who have patiently answered our questions, shared incredibly detailed packing spreadsheets, and invited us to participate in their art car project. What, pray tell, is an art car? We’re glad you asked! The information that follows is from The Cosmic Conversation website and crowdfunding page.
The Cosmic Conversation is a giant honey bee art car made of 12k silk flowers, 10k addressable LEDs, and a furry, fuzzy rainbow interior. This mutant vehicle project embodies the spectral, swarming, nonhierarchical, superorganismic collective intelligence of the nondual whole.
How did this project begin? A group of friends scattered across Northern California, New York City, and Germany wanted to create an interactive work of art - a social sculpture - that embodies the kind of relational intelligence they believe describes the cosmos. That's why they’ve called their art car The Cosmic Conversation: a bee is a conversation amongst flowers, and a flower a conversation amongst bees.
In our co-emergent intelligence, we are greater than the sum of our parts, both as individual beings and as local and global communities. Each individual piece is necessary in its uniqueness, and at the same time inseparable as a part of an interconnected, coextensive whole.
This project welcomes tired, thirsty, hungry, sleepy, hot, cold, maxed-out burners and neighbors into a comfortable, cushy, restful, and beautiful rainbow chillspace conversation pit.
